A billion pound, highly complex hi-tech project was considered to be in budgetary danger, due to political, organisational and technical turbulence. This midway analysis quantified the expected budget result, but also resulted in clarification and ranking of potential solutions.

A hi-tech defence programme in trouble (F3)

A forecast of the end result and a ranked list of points which were critical for success were called for and were produced by an expert group within a few days.
